I have a ton of field trip pictures and some pumpkin party pictures. I plan on putting more up tomorrow, but due to fall festival tonight at Fort Caroline Christian Church, I will be busy, very busy tonight. Here are a few teaser pictures:

They are in the positions that the Spanish soldiers would have taken when fighting.

Thank you, Ms. Amelia, Thomas' mom, for the goodie bags and beautiful lips! :-)

Booktasting, Birdfeeder, and Bean Plants

Every two weeks, our class has a Booktasting. There are six books and each student gets to read each of those books for three minutes. When everyone has read each of the books, they get to score each book, on a scale of 0ne to six, with six being the best, on which books they would like to read the most. Here are pictures and the results of our booktasting today.

Our Results! Caleb is holding the book that scored the highest and Thomas and Chad are holding the books which tied for the lowest.

Our birdfeeder: We fill our birdfeeder every Monday and our lovely friend, a squirrel, always seems to empty it by Wednesday. Even though it is empy, we still see many birds throughout the week. Can you find the two birds in this picture?

Our bean plant that we placed close to the window is really growing! :-)

Plant project and Friday Fun

In class, as we have been studying plants, we have been growing bean seeds. We planted four seeds in each container and marked them with numbers 1-6. We then found six different locations in our classroom to place the different containers (ex. bathroom, refrigerator, by the window, etc). Each plant received the same amount of water each day and we have been watching them grow and keeping a chart where we measure and note how much each has grown and if all four of the seeds have sprouted.

Since we had extra time on our last dress down Friday, we had some Friday Fun. We had three different stations: Golf, a card game involving math and memory, State Match, a game helping us remember states and capitals, as well as work on our memory skills, and Connect Four, a game helping us work on strategies. Each student had two chances at each station, with each session lasting three minutes. After the three minutes, a winner was determined and the students moved on to the next seat! At the end of the time, the points were added together and our first Friday fun winner was: EMILY ZYTOWSKI!!!!!! Congrats, Emily!

A beautiful picture of our class pet, Gigantor! He's getting so big and LOVES being at school more than being at Ms. Jennifer's house!

Field Trip, Spanish Class, and 2 Bonus Points!!!

These first two pictures are from our field trip to the "Toying with Science" show at the Florida Theater. (Sorry about their poor quality.) The third picture is of our Spanish class with Ms. Madeline.

I will give two bonus points on the quiz of their choice to the student or students who can correctly guess where this picture was taken. And yes, the animal you see in the picture is real!

Even more new pictures

The day that we did our planting, I took some cool pictures through the holes in the bottom of the pots. See if you can guess who each picture is!

Two new pictures and October field trip links!

These two pictures were taken on our planting day! We planted six different pots with four bean seeds each and placed each pot in a different location in our class. We're making a chart to see which ones will grow the best and which ones won't grow at all.
